Here we have a BRAND NEW Black Country general purpose saddle (serial #19156). This saddle is comprised of comfortable vintage leather as well as cowhide. The flaps are 15" long, measured from the bottom of the stirrup bar, and 24.5" forward, measured from mid cantle to the furthest forward point on the flap. The seat is 17". The moderately deep seat and slightly forward flap of this saddle are a great combination for the rider looking to do flat work and general riding (HUNT SEAT) in addition to low level dressage. This saddle is wool flocked with small front gussets and 1.5" rear gussets. It features an extra wide tree, measuring about 12" at the bottom of the tree points, and is an ideal fit for a wide, A-shaped wither with little wither definition and a somewhat level back.  The gullet channel measure 6.5" in the front, 2" in the middle and 2" in the rear. This saddle normally retails for $2,895, but is for sale with DBS for only $2,000!!

From Black Country: Definitely our most versatile general purpose saddle. The main feature of the GPD is the straight-cut flap which aligns well cosmetically as a show saddle and also provides support when riding dressage. The straightness of the panel gives maximum freedom of movement behind the shoulder, making it particularly suitable for native breeds, cobs and wide horses. A popular choice whether in the showing ring, the dressage arena or simply for pleasure riding.
